File Formats

At RTP Signs & Graphics, we have invested in the latest in sign making and computer technology. This allows us to accept a variety of graphics files (both PC and MAC). The following is a listing of the files we can accept: (outline fonts) Vector EPS, PDF (embedded fonts), Flexi, JPEG. We can’t except native file formats, due to too many variables in the formatting. If you have only a native file, please call or email us, so we can see how we can help you achieve your signage needs.

Guidelines for receiving DIGITAL file for production:

  • What is the maximum size we can laser up to?
    24”x12” – and larger. Please contact us for more information on oversize projects.
  • What is the maximum thickness you can laser?
    1/32” and thicker. Please contact us for more information on custom thickness.
  • By laser cutting, will I have polished edges?"
    Yes, with Laser cutting you will have smooth polished edges with a gloss finish on Acrylic.
  • Do you offer direct to print onto acrylic services?
    Yes, we do. We offer a 4ft by 8ft flatbed UV printer that can print directly on acrylic.
  • Can you install studs behind the acrylic to mount on the wall?
    Yes, we have various studs and pads that we can install onto your cut. Or we have tape mounting, depending on the size and weight of the letters/graphics.
  • What is your turnaround time?
    Turnaround time is going to depends on how complicated the job is. For a simple cut out of acrylic, you’ll be looking at 4-5 business days after payment and approved of final artwork file. If we need to paint this will extend the turnaround time.
  • What is the minimum order for laser cuts?
    We have a minimum $50 order plus tax.
  • Can you get this specific color of acrylic in this specific thickness?
    Most of the colors we have in stock at a wide variety of thickness. However, if you are looking for an exact color and thickness please call or email us to confirm availability.
  • Do you provide a paper template for installation?
    Yes, if you request for a paper template, we can provide one. We also provide cut out stencils on some signs to make installation even easier.
  • What type of file do I need to send you?
    Vector EPS file will be need in order to vector cut or engraved on the laser. If you do not have a vector EPS file, we can create one. Please contact us for an estimate to vectorize your graphics.
  • Can you install my Sign or Graphics?
    Yes, we can install your sign. Please contact us for an estimate.
Submission Checklist

  1. I have provided a hard copy, PDF or JPG of my final file for proofing.

  2. I have made high quality JPG for my Photoshop files, and made my vector EPS for AI & CorelDRAW files.

  3. I have converted all fonts to curves, outlines, or provided fonts that I am unable to convert.

  4. All of my images are no less than 300 dpi at their final size.

  5. I have not used any gradients for cutting on vinyl, I used spot colors only.

  6. If I do not have an EPS vector file, I have provided a high-resolution JPG file for RTP Signs to vectorize it, at an additional charge. Please call or email us for an estimate on vectorizing your file.

  7. I have embedded all images, or provided linked images that I am unable to embed. RTP signs will embed images at an additional charge for printing.
